How to Vote
Step 1 : Register to Vote!
Access the “Citizen’s Portal” by clicking on the button below to register to vote or check your registration.
Step 2: Make a Plan to Vote!
In Virginia, you have 3 options to vote in any election:

Vote Early by Mail
- Anyone can vote by email - no excuse is needed
- Visit the “Citizen’s Portal” by clicking on the button below to request a mail-in ballot

Vote Early in Person
- Vote at your registrar’s office during business hours and on some Saturdays. Bring a valid ID!

Vote on Election Day!
- Voting polls are open 6am to 7pm
- Visit the “Citizen’s Portal” to find your voting location.
- Don’t forget to bring a valid ID: VA driver’s license or state ID, U.S. passport, university student ID, U.S. military ID, U.S. or VA government ID
